Fresh from their Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Writing, Variety or Sketch Comedy, the WGC is pleased to announce that Baroness Von Sketch Show showrunner Jennifer Whalen and series’ writers Jen Goodhue and Monica Heisey are joining our upcoming Writers Talking TV (WTTV) event on Mar. 6, 2019 at TIFF Bell Lightbox.

With a 100% of its episodes written by women and starring Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne and Whalen (who are also co-exec producers), this fast-paced and irreverent single-camera comedy series has spent the past three seasons garnering fans and critical accolades. Baroness Von Sketch Show’s writers hold a fun house mirror up to the vagaries of modern life, looking at everything from the politics of ordering a coffee to entitled coworkers and open relationships.

Whalen, Goodhue and Heisey, and the Baroness writers’ room, are currently working away on the fourth season of the show for CBC. This WTTV session, moderated by fellow WGC member and Spun Out co-creator Jeff Biederman, will feature an episode screening, insights into how this groundbreaking show comes together—and a lot of laughs.

WTTV with writers from the Baroness Von Sketch Show takes place Wednesday, Mar. 6, from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at TIFF Bell Lightbox (350 King St. W., Toronto). The event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP to Shannon Bokowski ([email protected]) to secure a seat.
