WTTV: Wishfart June 28

June 12, 2018

Wishfart, the new animated series created by  Dan Williams, Lienne Sawatsky and John Hazlett, is centre-stage at Writers Talking TV on June 28, hosted by Mike Kiss (writer on Fangbone!Grojband, and Max & Shred, among others). Expect a lively conversation about writing animation!

Writers Talking TV is the WGC's live, on-stage writer-to-writer interview, and it's a great opportunity for screenwriters, screenwriter-hopefuls, and anyone interested in the industry to hear about what goes on behind the scenes writing a show. It's free and open to the public — please just RSVP to secure a seat.

When: June 28, 7 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30)
Where: TIFF Bell Lightbox, 350 King St. West.
What: Conversation about screenwriting craft; episode screening; Q&A
RSVP: Free and open to the public but please RSVP to Shannon Richard reception@wgc.ca to secure a seat.

About the show: In each episode of Wishfart, Dez, a maverick teen leprechaun with rookie wish-granting powers, goes on wild escapades with his friends, a Japanese ghost girl named Akiko and a puffin called Puffin. So, what's a wishfart? A wish with unintended results, kind of like a "brainfart." Every episode is big on laughs, and there’s lots to learn as well, especially about the power of friendship and sticking together through any bizarre adventure that comes your way. Wishfart is broadcast in Canada on Teletoon, (Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. ET/PT), and can be viewed internationally, including in Britain, Africa, Belgium, and Italy.
