The WGC is not just about negotiating rates with producers.
The WGC offers its members Insurance and Retirement, advocacy on your behalf with producers, the government, and agencies such as Canadian Media Fund, lobbying, and importantly, promotion for your work. The WGC Awards, Canadian Screenwriter Magazine, various festivals and events (NxNEi, FanExpo, conferences and conventions, etc.) and our social marketing platforms are all opportunities for the WGC covered Digital Projects to be given a spotlight.
Joining the WGC also means that your name and project are listed in our online Member’s Directory – a place where producers search for talent to bring on board for their own projects, either traditional broadcast or digital. When you sign with a signatory producer, then as an already established WGC member, you’re prepared to engage with a fair and balanced contract!
